8 Days Wildebeest Migration Tour

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be met by your driver and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Relax and unwind in anticipation of your upcoming safari. Spend the night at Arusha Planet Lodge, located in the scenic city of Arusha, nestled at the base of Mount Meru.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour drive. Known for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, Tarangire is home to a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and predators like lions and leopards. After a full day of game viewing, head to your accommodation, Farm of Dreams Lodge, for dinner and overnight.

Following breakfast, you'll drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll enjoy a scenic view of the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing on to Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is renowned for its vast plains and is home to the Great Migration. Depending on the season, you may witness wildebeest, zebra, and antelope herds in search of food and water. After a game drive, you’ll head to Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight at a tented camp.

Wake up early for a full day of game drives. You’ll follow the Wildebeest Migration and may witness the dramatic Mara River crossing, a highlight of the Serengeti. From June to September, the northern Serengeti is prime for spotting the migration. In the evening, return to your accommodation at Tanzania Bush Camps near the Mara River for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, embark on another game drive in Serengeti. Look out for the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—before heading to Ngorongoro Crater. Once you arrive, enjoy the breathtaking view of the crater’s floor, rich with wildlife. Overnight at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge, nestled in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, where you can spot the Big Five and a variety of bird species. With its dense population of wildlife, the crater offers exceptional game viewing. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, ascend to the crater rim and return to your lodge. Later, enjoy a village walk in Mto wa Mbu to learn about local life, visit banana plantations, and sample traditional foods.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This small but diverse park is known for its soda lake, where flamingos and other bird species gather, as well as its famous tree-climbing lions. During your game drive, you'll also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and possibly lions lounging in the trees. Afterward, return to Arusha Planet Lodge for overnight.
